Welcome to our newly emerging makerspace in South East Melbourne/Bayside. We started out as a computer club, Melbourne PC user Group, in 1984. We are now transitioning from a 20th century home computer club to a 21st century hub for people whose passion is making things using technology, crafts, and art. We are well-placed to do this, with our own clean, bright premises in Moorabbin and the capacity to acquire tools and equipment ranging from diverse 3D printers to sewing machines, vinyl cutters to laser engravers.
We already have a far bit of equipment. In our basement workshop there a lathe, milling machine, and sundry drill press etc. Also, a 3-axis large format CNC machine being built by members. Upstairs we have a fleet of open frame "bed-slinger" style 3D printers, enough for members to be able to take home, plus a more advanced, enclosed Bambu Lab with 4-colour capability.
