A problem to be solved or just finding ways to make life a little better?
Topping up the mixing bowl on the KitchenMaid mixer can result in spills and a mess to clean up.
Various products are out there for sale but I decided to do a design of my own and 3D print it on the BambuLab P1S. This is what it looks like in FreeCad.
where I started out by drawing the 2D profile or cross-section so it would fit over the lip of the bowl and then provide an open funnel shape.
Then I created another sketch for the arc at the same diameter to match that of the bowl in a plane at right abgles to the profile. Next step is to apply a Revolution so that the profile is traced out around the arc.
The last operation before exporting to an .step file is to create the fillets so that smooth corners and edges are created.
After exporting to .step file the import into the BambuLab slicer program there was a bit to consider in orienting the model on the buildplate. Was it too big, will it tip over from being overbalanced? How much support would be necessary? Adhesion to the buildplate was increased by setting two layers of raft and only using a Slim Tree support. Then atke a deep breath and hope that is enough.
